Here’s some good news for the R&B world. New Orleans crooner August Alsina’s debut album, Testimony, will debut #2 this week on the Billboard charts. He grabbed the highest debut album of the week this week.

The album enters at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 selling 67,000 copies in its first week. It also claims the No. 1 spot on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums.

“Thank you guys for hearing & being apart of my #Testimony,” August told his fans. “I’m humbled. We gotta keep growing, take that #1 spot.”

He lost out to Disney’s Frozen soundtrack, which continues its reign at No. 1, selling a whopping 259,000 copies.

Also earning his first top 10 is Jason Derulo, whose third album Talk Dirty arrives at No. 4 (44,000).

Twenty years after the release of his debut Illmatic, Nas’ debut album debuts to low sales again. The 20th anniversary album Illmatic XX at No. 14 with 15,000 copies.
